Ski at any time of the year.

Skiing holidays have become popular in many mountainous countries around the world such as, Andorra, France, Switzerland, The United States, Argentina and Chile. A skiing holiday is a great opportunity to enjoy with the family, as age and experience are no barriers for skiing. Every skiing resort has ski schools, slopes for all skiing abilities, as well as, bars, restaurants, discotheques, spas, swimming pools, and the like.

If you are interested in Europe you have to go either to the Alps or the Pyrenees depending on your skiing abilities and your budget.

The Principality of Andorra, located between Spain and France, is a small country that has five extensive ski resorts that offer the best skiing in the Pyrenees. Andorra is perfect for intermediate level skiers, who want to improve and acquire high-quality skiing skills and do not want to spend fortunes while achieving them. Even though the Pyrenees are much more affordable than the Alps, they offer excellent and modern accommodations.

The traditional French Alps excellence, due to constant renovations and improvements, will satisfy everybody. Improved ski lifts are being installed and lodging is being expanded constantly. The French Alps has varied lodgings that include luxurious resorts and chalets and usually are more expensive that the Pyrenees, besides the Alps slopes are more challenging than the Pyrenees, and for that reasons, they are recommended for more experienced skiers.

Switzerland, another popular European winter sport destination, has a unique fairy tale landscape with its cozy wooden chalets. This country holds lots of high quality skiing slopes and they house the Eiger, the Monch and the Jungfrau mountains, which captivate skiers with their spectacular scenery. Switzerland has one of the most extensive skiing locations of the world called Verbier. Some of the slopes of this region can be a real challenge even for experienced skiers. Apart from fantastic slopes, the ski resorts of Switzerland also offer night clubs and excellent restaurants. When choosing a region of Switzerland to go skiing, you should bear in mind prices. For example, St Moritz is extremely expensive resort recommended for the Royalty and millionaires; however, there are other regions such as Davos that offer very attractive slopes and excellent facilities and accommodations at much more affordable prices. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a region for the whole family, you should go to Madrisa. This is a slightly smaller region and its slopes are perfect for learning and it holds “Kinderland”, where children can enjoy in the magic carpet and the carrousel.

Excellent skiing is also available in America. In this country, there are some luxurious ski villas available to rent and some of them even come with their own swimming pools and spas. For example, Colorado has 13 world-class resorts with a total skiable area of nearly 12 thousand hectares.

Argentina and Chile own the best ski centers in South America, which have no reason to envy the European centers.

Las Leñas, one of the most important resorts in Argentina, due to its matchless snow quality, has slopes for all levels and supreme areas for the practice of off-piste skiing. The longest slopes of Las Leñas reaches the skiable length of 7.050 meters long that have first class accommodations, bars among the slopes, excellent gastronomy, ski and snowboard schools, among other services.

Cerro Catedral (Cathedral Hill) is located in the majestic Nahuel Huapi National Park, nearby Bariloche. The name “Cathedral” finds its origins in the similarity between these mountaintops and a gothic cathedral.

Cerro Castor, built on the southern slope of Krund hill, is located Tierra del Fuego. This is a new complex inaugurated in 1999 that has very modern lifts that transport 5000 passengers per hour. Here you can enjoy a wide range of activities apart from skiing and snowboarding such as going for a walk with snowshoes, rent fourtracks, ride sleighs driven by Siberian Huskies, etc.

The Portillo Ski Area in Chile is well-known for its astonishing beauty and its world-class skiing and snowboarding. Portillos is a very refine skiing area that includes outdoor heated pools, gymnasiums, discos, bars, and the like.
